“I lived in Minneapolis for 7 years when I was in my 20’s. Though I’ve lived in VA for nearly 40 years, I still consider Minneapolis home. My heart is broken for what you are all going through. At the same time, I am so proud of how you are fighting back against racism, terrorism and violence. I am not surprised by your response. This is the city and state that I grew to love. It’s people are strong and resilient and most importantly, the care about one another. Please know that there are many people across this country and all over the world that are on your side and support you. Take good care of yourselves and keep up the good fight, as I know you will.”
